Student Insurance Requirement & Eligibility Policy

California College of the Arts is committed to ensuring all students have the appropriate resources to uphold their physical health and wellness.

Per CCA policy, all students who are registered for courses at full-time status (12 or more units per term for undergraduate students; 9 or more units per term for graduate students) are automatically charged for and enrolled in the CCA student insurance plan unless they submit an approved insurance waiver that meets all of CCA's minimum requirements, by the established deadline​ - which is typically aligned with the end of the Add/Drop period.​

The CCA student student insurance plan includes:

1. Medical Coverage - provided through Aetna. The college has secured a group health insurance policy that provides coverage for up to 12 months each year. Students also have access to 24/7/365 virtual care by phone, email, and video conference, a mobile app for appointment scheduling and prescription refills, personal health coaching, and referrals to a network of specialists.
2. Dental and Vision Coverage - provided through Anthem Student Advantage.
3. One Medical Membership - One Medical Group provides high-quality, patient-centered primary care services with same-day/next-day appointments and has office locations in the Bay Area and nationwide.

An insurance fee is charged for each term at registration.

2022-2023:

• $1,706.60 (fall 2022: August 1 - December 31, 2022)
• $2,361.64 (spring/summer 2023: January 1 - July 31, 2023)
• $675.04 (summer 2023 / MFA in Comics students only: June 1 - July 31, 2023)

2023-2024:

• $1,618 (fall 2023: August 1 - December 31, 2023)
• $2,248 (spring/summer 2024: January 1 - July 31, 2024)
• $639 (summer 2024 / MFA in Comics students only: June 1 - July 31, 2024)
