Provost’s Faculty Grants Program

Last updated on Sep 29, 2021

Overview

The Provost’s Faculty Grants Program fosters the development of CCA faculty and programs. These grants support faculty to engage in the development of their teaching and professional practice and to design improvements to teaching effectiveness and curriculum.

The two grants that are offered under the Provost's Faculty Grants Program are:

  1. Faculty Development Grant (suspended since spring 2020)
  2. Curricular Development Grant (suspended since spring 2020)

Eligibility and Criteria

All faculty members and the four divisions are eligible to apply, with the exception of visiting, distinguished and emeritus faculty. Selection criteria explicitly include an evaluation of the extent to which the applicant’s proposed project will benefit CCA students in the classroom.

The program is highly competitive; not all applications will be awarded funding. However, winning proposals will be funded for the full amount up to the award limits.

All grant decisions made by the designated selection committee are forwarded to the Provost for final approval.

All awardees agree to present a summary of their grant-related work at the invitation of the associate provost. All grantees are expected to publicly acknowledge their affiliation with CCA and the support received from CCA’s Faculty Development Grant program in resulting or related presentations, publications, or other professionally appropriate forums.

An acknowledgement may take the following or similar form: "I serve on the faculty at California College of the Arts (CCA), and support to complete this work was provided by the Provost’s Faculty Grants Program.”
