CCA@CCA Student Fellowship

Last updated on Oct 12, 2021

Application Deadline: October 25, 2021

Creative Citizens in Action (CCA@CCA) is a college-wide initiative that promotes creative activism and democratic engagement through public programs, exhibitions, and curriculum connections. The theme for the 2021-2022 academic year is Fluid Mutualism. Inspired by the ancestral practices and philosophies of maintaining harmony by Indigenous people from around the world, Fluid Mutualism centers Indigenous knowledge and technology by focusing on four elements of inquiry: land, communal responsibility, assembly, and joy.

CCA’s Exhibitions and Public Programming Department is looking for creative researchers and practitioners to assist with conceiving, planning, and producing public programs related to CCA@CCA. Tasks may include event planning, student outreach, social media efforts, event assistance, e-mail communication, website assistance, and more. Additional opportunities may exist to create work. The person in this role will contribute directly to the Creative Citizens Program Series and will help research, plan, promote, moderate, and archive events that support the initiative’s goals.

We are looking for someone who is creative, enthusiastic, can work independently, has great communication skills, and a keen interest in social justice, activism, and community engagement. This position requires in-person meetings on the SF campus in fall 2021 and spring, with some projects being conducted remotely. The position reports to the Exhibitions Gallery Manager. The rate is $16.32 per hour, per CCA’s work study policy.

Interested candidates should submit a CV and brief cover letter in Workday (job code R506852) specifically detailing how this role would assist in their career goals and aspirations. Any questions can also be referred to exhibitions@cca.edu.

Student workers must be able to complete the I-9 employment verification process managed by Human Resources in order to be eligible to work.
